Weekly visitors: The check-out period is one week.
Every Other Week visitors: The check-out period is two weeks.

RENEWALS

Books may be renewed for additional time:

Weekly visitors: Three additional check-out periods–for a total of four weeks.
Every Other Week visitors: One additional check-out period–for a total of four weeks.

OOPS! I FORGOT MY BOOKS!

If a student forgets to return their book(s) on their scheduled library day, they are able to explore the library’s resources during their weekly visits (books, magazines, online resources, etc), but they won’t be able to check out another book until the overdue book(s) are returned. Students may return book(s) on any day–they don’t have to wait until their scheduled library day. As soon as overdue materials are returned, students are able to check-out again.

OVERDUE BOOKS

Courtesy notices go out weekly and are distributed by your child’s teacher. They provide identifying information on overdue materials to help remind students of what they’ve borrowed, as well as information on what to do if library materials have been lost or damaged. While there is no fine for overdue books, materials overdue by 30 days or more are assumed to be lost. If you believe your child has received a notice in error, you can send an email with your inquiry to: millsj@pvpusd.net

LOST OR DAMAGED MATERIALS

Sometimes books do get lost or damaged. If a book is 30 days or more beyond its due date and cannot be found, there are two ways to replace it and restore your child’s library privileges.

•Payment can be made to the front office in the amount of $20 by cash or check. Please make checks payable to Dapplegray Elementary School. Along with payment, please include a copy of the overdue notice or a note with your child’s name indicating the payment is for a lost library book so we can be sure to clear the student’s library account.

•A replacement book may be purchased in lieu of payment. Replacement books may be used or new but must be a hardcover edition of the same book that was lost. Used books in ‘new’, ‘very good’ condition are acceptable.

There are no fines for overdue books that are returned.
