Library Committee/Friends of the Dapplegray Library This PTA committee was formed during the 2021-2022 school year to generate awareness and support for the library within the school community. By establishing a broad network of support from the school community, we have seen a rise in regular volunteerism, hands-on help with programming, increased funding, and have incorporated library activities into school-wide events. If you believe in the value and importance of school libraries, consider joining!
Want to donate a book to the library? Check the Colts Chronicle for information on The PTA Birthday Book Club! When families donate to the ‘BBC’ in honor of a child’s birthday, funds go directly toward the purchase of new library books. Children whose families have donated will be invited to one of our BBC celebrations held in the library throughout the year (or in the kinder area for our youngest colts). They will choose a book from a selection of brand new purchases, add a name plate to it, recognizing their birthday and their donation to the library, and they will receive some special treats. The new book will be featured among other BBC selections and made available for check-out.
Other ways to donate:
•’Adopt-a-Shelf!’ Donate funding for the purchase of a ‘shelf’s worth of books’ on a topic relating to your field or business! (For example: Architecture, Science, Animals, Engineering, Performing, Art, Writing, Poetry, Cooking, Business, Sports…) •Check out our Amazon Wish List.
How your donations are making a difference! The Library Committee/FoDGL puts focus on fundraising efforts to support our library. Since setting out on our project to overhaul and update the library collection, we’ve realized some of our goals and set new ones for growth.
